Lumina Finance Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Lumina Financesoftware application (“App”) developed and distributed by VRYTIS LABS (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and unconditionally agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

These Terms apply to all visitors, registered account holders, guest mode users, and anyone who accesses or interacts with the App. If you do not agree to every provision of these Terms, you must not install, access, or use the App, and you must immediately uninstall and delete all local copies of the App from your devices.

Your continued use of Lumina Finance following the posting of any modifications to these Terms on our official website at https://vrytislabs.com/lumina-finance/terms constitutes your explicit acceptance of such revisions.

Lumina Finance is an Android utility application designed to facilitate personal financial tracking, category budgeting, cash flow organization, recurring bill reminders, receipt text digitization via on-device machine learning, and business PDF invoice creation.

The core technological characteristics of the service include:

• Offline-First Local Storage: By default, all expense entries, invoices, budgets, and accounts are written directly to a local SQLite database (via Android Room) residing in private application sandbox storage on your physical device.
• Optional Cloud Synchronization: Users may choose to register for an account using Google Firebase Authentication. Cloud synchronization backs up and synchronizes transactional records to Google Cloud Firestore and receipt images/profile pictures to Firebase Storage.
• Guest Mode: You can operate the entire application in Guest Mode without creating an account, registering an email address, or transmitting transactional data to our cloud servers.
• On-Device Machine Learning:Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for paper receipts utilizes Google ML Kit text recognition models running entirely on your Android device's local processor.

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction of residence, to download, register for, or use Lumina Finance. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you possess the full legal right, capacity, and authority to enter into these Terms.

If you are using Lumina Financeon behalf of a company, partnership, sole proprietorship, freelance business, or other legal entity (for example, to generate customer invoices or record business expenses), you represent and warrant that you have full authorization to bind that business entity to these Terms. In that case, “you” and “your” refers to both the individual user and the represented entity.

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

You may choose to use Lumina Finance anonymously via Guest Mode or create a cloud-synchronized account using an email address and password, Phone OTP, or Google Sign-In.

• Credential Responsibility: You are solely responsible for safeguarding your authentication credentials, passwords, and the physical security of the Android devices on which Lumina Finance is installed.
• Device Protection:We strongly encourage you to secure your device with an operating system screen lock (PIN, password, pattern) and enable the App's built-in Biometric Lock feature (Fingerprint or Face Unlock). Biometric authentication executes locally through Android's BiometricPrompt API; our servers never access, collect, or store your biometric templates.
• Unauthorized Activity: You are fully liable for all activities, modifications, and sync events occurring under your account or on your unlocked device. You agree to notify us immediately at admin@vrytislabs.com upon suspecting any unauthorized access or breach of security.
• Account Accuracy: If you register an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and promptly update your email address if it changes.

You retain complete ownership and intellectual property rights over all financial entries, transaction records, custom categories, account balances, invoice line items, tax numbers, customer names, and receipt photographs that you input, scan, import, or store in Lumina Finance(“User Data”).

You are solely and exclusively responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, and integrity of all User Data entered into the App. Lumina Finance calculates category totals, invoice subtotals, tax figures, and chart summaries deterministically from your inputs. If you enter incorrect transaction values, choose incorrect tax rates, or misclassify expenses, the resulting reports and summaries will reflect those errors.

By using Lumina Finance, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• Informational Calculations: All numerical figures, budget balances, savings projections, visual charts, invoice totals, and tax estimates displayed in the App are algorithmic calculations based entirely on the numbers you enter. They do not constitute certified financial reports or legal tax returns.
• No Professional Fiduciary Relationship: Using Lumina Finance does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, financial planner-client, broker-client, or fiduciary relationship between you and VRYTIS LABS.
• No Banking or Fund Transfers: The App does not link directly to live bank accounts (no Plaid or Open Banking integration), does not initiate payments, does not process wire transfers, and does not hold, deposit, or transmit fiat currency or digital assets.
• Consult Certified Specialists: You must always consult a certified public accountant (CPA), chartered accountant, tax attorney, or registered investment advisor before making significant financial commitments, filing business tax returns, or taking investment positions.

You agree to use Lumina Finance solely for lawful personal or lawful internal business record-keeping purposes in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws, regulations, and ordinances.

You strictly agree that you shall NOT, directly or indirectly:

• Decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, decode, decipher, or otherwise attempt to derive or gain access to the source code of the App, its APK packages, or its underlying proprietary modules.
• Modify, translate, adapt, alter, enhance, or create derivative works or improvements of the App or any portion thereof.
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, assign, distribute, publish, transfer, or make available the App or any of its features to any third party for commercial exploitation without prior written consent.
• Interfere with, bypass, hack, probe, defeat, or circumvent any security controls, biometric authentication gates, rate-limiting routines, or cloud access tokens protecting our Firebase infrastructure.
• Introduce or distribute any viruses, worms, trojan horses, logic bombs, spyware, or other harmful or malicious code into the App or connected cloud databases.
• Use the App to generate fraudulent, deceptive, or forged invoices, simulate illicit money laundering activities, or facilitate unlawful trade, sanctions evasion, or tax fraud.
• Use automated scrapers, bots, crawlers, or harvesting tools to extract data, schemas, or resources from our APIs or services.

The App, including its software architecture, Jetpack Compose UI components, Material 3 design systems, visual layouts, icons, artwork, brand names, logos, audio cues, PDF invoice templates, documentation, and all related copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade names, and trade secrets, are the exclusive intellectual property of VRYTIS LABS or its licensors.

Limited License: Subject to your continuous compliance with these Terms, VRYTIS LABS grants you a revocable, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download, install, and execute one copy of Lumina Finance on Android devices owned or controlled by you, strictly for your personal or internal business productivity.

This license does not convey any ownership interest in or to the App. All rights not expressly granted to you herein are reserved exclusively by VRYTIS LABS.

Lumina Finance interacts with and depends upon certain third-party platforms and software libraries to deliver its capabilities. Your use of features reliant on these third parties may be subject to their respective terms and policies:

• Google Play: Your acquisition, download, and updating of the App through the Google Play Store is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
• Google Firebase Infrastructure: Optional cloud synchronization, user authentication, and crash telemetry (Crashlytics) operate on Google Cloud Firebase services governed by the Firebase Terms of Service.
• Google ML Kit: On-device optical character recognition for receipt scanning runs through Google ML Kit libraries in accordance with the ML Kit Terms of Service.

VRYTIS LABS does not operate, control, or assume responsibility for the availability, uptime, or legal terms of these third-party platforms.

We strive to provide a reliable, high-performance financial tracking utility. However, the App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

We reserve the right to update, modify, enhance, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any feature, functionality, compatibility specification, or cloud backend of Lumina Finance at our sole discretion, at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the App.

Because the application is built with an offline-first architecture, your previously saved local SQLite data will remain accessible on your Android device even during periods of cloud server maintenance, offline travel, or network disruptions.

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY AS IT LIMITS OUR LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, VRYTIS LABS AND ITS FOUNDERS, DEVELOPERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
• WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING, TRADE USAGE, OR PERFORMANCE.
• WARRANTIES THAT LUMINA FINANCE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, BUG-FREE, SECURE, ACCURATE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY ANDROID HARDWARE CONFIGURATION, OPERATING SYSTEM FORK, OR CUSTOM ROM.
• WARRANTIES THAT ON-DEVICE OCR RECEIPT PARSING WILL ACHIEVE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (100%) RECOGNITION ACCURACY ON ALL PRINTED OR HANDWRITTEN RECEIPTS.
• WARRANTIES THAT FINANCIAL ESTIMATIONS OR INVOICE TAX SUMMARIES SATISFY STATUTORY TAX LAWS IN EVERY MUNICIPALITY OR NATION.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VRYTIS LABS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, DEVELOPERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, LUMINA FINANCE.

THIS EXCLUSION INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF FINANCIAL RECORDS, LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, DATA CORRUPTION, INACCURATE INVOICE FIGURES DELIVERED TO YOUR CLIENTS, TAX PENALTIES RESULTING FROM YOUR DATA INPUTS, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, OR SYSTEM DOWNTIME, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF VRYTIS LABS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF LUMINA FINANCE EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE APP DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE INCIDENT, OR FIVE HUNDRED INDIAN RUPEES (INR 500 / APPROXIMATELY $10 USD), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Termination by You: You may terminate these Terms at any time by ceasing all use of the App and uninstalling it from all your devices. If you created a cloud account, you can permanently purge your records through the in-app account deletion tool in Settings or by submitting a request via our Delete Account Request portal.

Termination by Us: We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or permanently delete your access to Lumina Finance or our cloud synchronization services, with or without prior notice, if you breach any provision of these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive activities, or if we cease offering the service in your geographic region.

Upon termination of these Terms, all licenses granted to you herein immediately cease, and you must discontinue all use of the App. Sections 5 through 12, 15, and 16 shall survive any termination.

We may revise, update, or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect modifications in application features, statutory legal obligations, privacy standards, or platform rules set by Google Play.

When changes are enacted, we will update the “Last updated” timestamp at the top of this document and publish the updated version at https://vrytislabs.com/lumina-finance/terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

Your continued use of Lumina Finance following the publication of revised Terms signifies your binding agreement to the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, you must stop using the App and uninstall it.

These Terms, their interpretation, and any disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Lumina Finance shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the substantive laws of India, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

Subject to applicable mandatory consumer protection statutes, you agree that any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts located in West Bengal, India, and you hereby submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.

Consumer Rights Reservation: Nothing in these Terms limits, diminishes, or excludes any non-waivable statutory rights or remedies that you may enjoy as a consumer under mandatory local consumer protection legislation in your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contractual agreement.
